Building a loft layout
It may be surprising but for a loft layout we don't start with the baseboards or the plan! For many the idea of a loft layout is the first location they think of, until they venture into the loft...
If it's a modern house then the options for a layout are limited as the structure of the loft beams will almost certainly inhibit the construction and the viewing. In essence too many thin beams when what we need is as few beams of the thicker variety as possible. I am lucky here because I have a mid 1930's house where the roof had an open construction so there are virtually no beams to spoil the view of get in the way of moving freely around the loft.
