Computer Control

I came back into this hobby about in 2005 because I needed a complete break from work in my spare time after a heart operation.  My initial attraction was to run the layout using computer control and although that interest has been always there I have had to learn all the other steps to complete before we can get there.

Before you can have a computer controlled layout you first need a layout that has been completed to a certain stage and dare I say to a good standard!  Relaibility is the key so every point, signal and feedback device must be working correctly.

After much deliberation I have chosen for my layout "Yeovil Town" Railroad & Co's TrainController Gold.  Why Gold?  well this is an exercise in what can be done and that version although much more expensive enables us to explore all the options available.  For you the Bronze or Silver may be best or if you are on a tight budget and don't mind rolling up your sleeves then JMRI is available.
