Don't take a fence!

After laying a 24 slab patio at the end of the garden we traveled to the club house to continue with construction of brick sided platform.  This is a narrow platform and is primarily used for arrivals from Yeovil Junction, shuttle or otherwise.  It is narrow and access is gained via the footbridge adjacent to the Newton Road bridge.  The back side of the platform is bordered by the yard sidings so there is a GWR black standard Platform fence all along the back edge.  I was concerned about where is started and ended but recent photos were able to confirm it is the whole length.

The fencing is a Ratio product and has been trimmed one end and glued between each section to make a piece the right length.

The platform had been made many years before by the original constructors but left as bear plywood.  We have edged this one with a 4mm scale engineering brick pattern in plastic sheet.  Strips were cut and impact adhesive used to bond the sides.  Other platforms are stone constructions but we will use the same method.  The tops are sprayed with stone effect mid grey textured paint from B&Q a truly wonderful product which looks just the part.  The white lines are thin 4mm wide plastic strips, again impact adhesive bonded to the edge to leave just a small overhang as Yeovil Town was not built like more modern platforms.  We intend to tape these up on Tuesday night and respray the platform surface filling in the step for the plastic white line in the process...

When done we will add the fence on Wednesday (club night).
