Open Wide!

 Whilst squeezed into the old building CS1 Yeovil Town was difficult to operate with multiple operators due to the narrow width at the control desk area.  There was just no room to pass without asking the controller to move.

It was always the intention to fit 36 inch extensions to width for exhibitions and when we moved to a larger building CS2 it was agreed to fit the extensions.  When it came to measuring up we felt that 36 inches was not the best size so opted for a 30 inch extension.  Two boards were made in the same style as the existing boards and fitted a couple of weeks ago.  The track has been laid and we now just need to fit the droppers and the pass through wires to complete the circuit once again.  This will happen tonight at club night.

I must say that the extra width has transformed the layout and made everything far more accessible during operation.   We now have scope to add more scenic boards at a later phase.
