Will the spot detector work?

Will the spot detector work?

Lenz LR101 8-way digital input module that connects via the RS bus.

I had some old MERG Hectors built and stored away.  They use Infra-red to bounce a signal off the underside of a veihcle and recieve it back to detect the presence of a train above the track.  It will be fitted through a small hole between the sleepers and is not sensitive to ambient light levels.  The modern offering from MERG is a Dual Hector which as the name implies has two sensors.  I may need to swap to the Dual Hector if I need another sensor to slow down the train howvever where this is being used (in the Engine shed sidings) the locomotive will only be moving slowly.

Lenz Power Supply for DCC system

This power supply for DCC is just 3amps but the one being used on the layout for accessories is a 5 amp ZTC PSU and the one being used for DCC traction is also a 5 amp ZTC PSU.  We currently have two Lenz control systems complete with PC interface and 3 ZTC 511's of which two are modified to increase the programming track 100 mA to a higher figure to be able to cope with heavier current chips such as early sound chips.  The memory has also been increased on all 3.
