For the last two weeks we have been moving things around at the clubhouse to fit in all the activities that members are working on.  Last Wednesday we took advantage of the larger than average number of members attending (due to the AGM) to move South West by Southern sideways by about 4 feet.

The moves are:

  • Backwater relocated from 4mm/2mm room to 7mm room (Evicted: after all it is a 7mm model!)
  • Library bookcases relocated back to their original place just inside on the right in the 4mm/2mm room from being scattered throughout the clubhouse (This helps John to manage the library better
  • South West by southern SWxS moved 4 feet to the right to leave a larger space on left for...
  • Paul's 2mm layout now occupies a new larger dedicated 2mm area at the back of the 4mm/2mm room next to John's SWxS ready for its larger extension plans
  • John's desk to be placed back into the library from whence it came
  • Yeovil Town to move closer to the entrance door ready for fiddle yard attachment with end curves of 3ft radius
  • various desks, tables and cupboards to be re sited as need to fit the YT fiddle yard close up to 4mm test track
  • Olivia's / John's 2mm round robin layout (when completed) to be sited close to the 2mm area and 4mm test track to act as a club 2mm Dc powered test track
  • General rubbish to be cleared from 4mm/2mm room

All these moves help us shoe-horn the layouts in for construction and running and will make best use of the space.  It reinforces the expansion of the club to embrace both 2mm (N gauge) modellers and OO modellers and will hopefully be more appealing to new members.

Many of the club's 4mm and 2mm layouts are now DCC and a great number of members are now very experienced in the wiring and operating of DCC systems in various gauges and scales
