YMRG's new website

Well it was way back in January 2008 at the AGM for the Yeovil Model Railway Group that I stood up announced that we not only do we need a website but that I would provide it.  Ok so I run a web design company in real life but it has not been easy.  I have had to wait for the right work slot and have also needed to do much preparation.  After all what type of website, what is its purpose, how about its design?  Lots of questions not too many easy answers. 

Well just about 2 months later than the intended date we now have a website and September 16th was when it was born and just as a human child has to develop from birth so does this site.  It will take a couple of weeks configuring the site and then we start populating it with images and text from club members.

What is the aim of the website?  Well quite modest really its "to be the first stop website for railway modellers in the UK".  Not a easy task then!  Well we have the technology - the site has been build using my company's Kontrolit Content Management System so it has all the professional features that would normally cost an organisation about 5-10 years subscriptions and I have experience with promoting websites high in the rankings.  All we need now is the content that befits the best.  Let the journey commence...
